We are the Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Champions. We work together to help make our school and wider community a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive place for everyone. We meet regularly to share ideas and discuss how we can celebrate differences, promote equality, and challenge discrimination in our school.
We take part in workshops where we learn about the nine protected characteristics and explore how diversity and inclusion exist beyond school. We also go on trips to galleries, museums, and important landmarks such as the House of Commons, where we learn about topics including British Black history, the power of protest, and how laws are created.
We meet and interview important people from our local community to learn about barriers to inclusion and to understand different lived experiences. We then share what we have learned by leading assemblies for the whole school, helping to create a positive, school-wide impact.
We are proud to work in partnership with charities such as Global Dignity who have helped us to take part in worldwide initiatives that promote dignity, respect, and equality for all. Through our work, we aim to make sure everyone at Corpus Christi feels valued, heard, and included.
